Margaret Payne, RNCS, MN, PNP

Margaret Payne RNCS, MN, PNP

Is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner and a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (AAP) and the International Lactation Association. Maggie has been practicing in the metro Atlanta area for 12 years. She enjoys practicing in the primary care setting as it affords her the opportunity to promote healthy life styles in children.

She has a passion for the promotion of breast feeding and offers skilled assistance for mothers who wish to breast feed. Maggie is devoted to the safeguarding of children against injuries and has served as chairperson for safekids fairs in the metro Atlanta area. Maggie received a Letter of Commendation from the Governor for her efforts in promoting pediatric safety in Georgia. She has been a faculty member in Emory University's PANP program for 11 years, and has enjoyed lecturing nationally on topics such as Antibiotic Resistance.

In addition, Maggie was interviewed by WebMd on the topic of breastfeeding. She has served on several hospital lactation promotion committees and has been aboard member for the Foundation for Medically Fragile Children for a number of years. Her undergraduate years were spent in sunny Tallahassee at Florida State University where she received her undergraduate degree in Nursing with a minor in psychology. Maggie graduated from Emory University with a master's degree in Pediatric Nursing.

Maggie enjoys hiking with her husband, two adorable busy boys, and very large dogs. She loves swimming, water and snow skiing, and anything that the outdoors has to offer.
